Moving Forward Physical Therapy was founded by Jane Karpovsky, MSPT and her husband in 2009 with the goal of providing individualized and skilled physical therapy treatment to the community. They expanded their practice in 2013 by opening the Framingham Location inside Lincoln Medical Center.
Meet Our Team
Owner, Physical Therapist
Jane is a 2006 graduated of Northeastern University with a Master’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, and owner of Moving Forward Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, Jane joined South Shore Hospital as an outpatient physical therapist, followed by working as an orthopedic therapist at several privately owned clinics, until opening her own practice with her husband in 2009.
Jane specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, and spine pathology, while utilizing evidence-based manual techniques and functional exercises. While working along side with Dr. Burdenko earlier in her career, Jane became certified in Level I-IV Burdenko Land and Water Rehabilitation, which she incorporates into her treatments. Jane continues to expand her knowledge over the years by attending seminars and continued education courses, and currently leading the Running Injury Prevention program at the Bedford location.
Physical Therapist Assistant
James attended Syracuse University as a Division 1 student-athlete and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Exercise Science. After a short time pursuing soccer professionally in Norway, he began working as an exercise technician for an outpatient clinic as well as an athlete performance coordinator. In 2016, he received his Associate’s degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Mount Washington College.
He is experienced in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, functional exercise, and injury prevention. Outside the clinic, James enjoys coaching soccer for the U.S. Development Academy, building patios and spending time with family.
Rachel Cohen is a Registered Dietitian and licensed through the Massachusetts Board of Nutrition & Dietetics. A Chicago native, Rachel studied nutrition at the University of Illinois and completed her internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. During her tenure as a Registered Dietitian, Rachel has worn many hats. She was on the staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as an outpatient Dietitian, dabbled in corporate nutrition at Trader Joe’s Company, and currently; Rachel enjoys working privately with 1:1 clients and groups to help them achieve and maintain their lifestyle goals.
As a busy mother of 4 and avid runner and yogi, Rachel understands the challenge of finding the time and energy to take care of yourself while also taking care of others. She is passionate about teaching her clients how to find balance in their lives and tap into unused energy. Rachel is empathetic and insightful and will help you find practical, sustainable solutions that are just right for you.
